Residential Movers Toronto & the GTA

Inner City Moving has been moving Toronto families since the early 1990s. Residential moving covers every kind of home — detached houses, semis, townhouses, condos and apartments — and each one has its own quirks: a staircase that turns twice, a fridge that will not clear the doorway, a closing date that moves at the last minute. Our crews have seen all of it across the GTA.

Why choose Inner City Moving

Our process

  1. Free estimate — walkthrough by phone, video or in person
  2. Plan — crew size, truck size and timing confirmed in writing
  3. Protection — floors, doorways and banisters padded before anything moves
  4. Move — wrap, load, transport, unload, reassemble
  5. Walkthrough — nothing left behind, nothing left in the wrong room

Pricing

Residential moves are billed hourly, based on crew size and truck. Most 1–2 bedroom homes need 2–3 movers; a 3–4 bedroom house typically needs 3–4. We quote the rate and the realistic hour range up front, and you are only billed for the materials actually used.

Residential Movers — frequently asked questions

Do you disassemble and reassemble furniture for a house move?

Yes, basic disassembly and reassembly of beds, tables and modular furniture is included. Our crews wrap each piece, move it safely and rebuild it in the right room at your new home, so you are not left with tools and instructions on moving night.

How far in advance should I book a house move in Toronto?

Two to four weeks is comfortable for most moves, and six weeks is safer for the last weekend of the month or the end of June, which are the busiest windows in the GTA. That said, we keep capacity for short-notice work — if your closing date just moved, call us and we will tell you honestly what we can do.

What will not you move?

We cannot transport hazardous goods — propane tanks, gasoline, paint thinners, ammunition or anything flammable or corrosive. Plants sometimes struggle in a hot or freezing truck, and we will tell you when that is a risk rather than promise otherwise. Everything else, including appliances and oversized furniture, we handle.
